Africa Leather and Leather Products Institute (ALLPI) was chartered in 1990, with the endorsement of 17 Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) Heads of State.
The institute’s general Mandate is to support the development of the leather sector in Africa in general and the COMESA Region in particular. ALLPI is an intergovernmental institution and headquartered in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
ALLPI’s membership encompasses ten countries, namely; Burundi, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, Sudan, Zambia and Zimbabwe. However, its service is open for the rest of the COMESA and African countries.
